Research into other artists digipacs

I captured these photographs as I wanted to show that I have researched into other artists digipacs.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers Greatest Hits

This is the Digipac for Red Hot Chilli Peppers, I chose to include this on my research into artists digipacs as I like how randon the front cover of the album is. And, I also like the scribbly writing in the pull out.

OK GO Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky

I really like this digipac as it is very simple yet colourful. This would look good as The Costigans digipac as it is simple, and because it is simple it would link well with the Costigans genre which is alternative; rock and I personally think Indie, as they do not belong to a record label. I could try doing a digipac design which only has writing on the front cover and then try different fonts, to experiment with different styles.

Green Day International Superhits

I quite like the idea of drawing a simple outline of five men instead of three like Green Day as it really links with The Costigans as there is five people in the band. I also think it links very well with their genre and it is also interesting to look at in comparison to simple writing like the digipac for OK GO. The Costigans genre is alternative; rock and I also think Indie, which means that they want to look quite professional which is why I would not photograph the band doing silly actions as this does not look professional.

Panic At The Disco

This digipac is quite surreal in comparison to the other digipacs I have photographed. I like the flower pattern on the CD which would link quite well with the band and the title of the track. I also like the fact only three colours are used on the CD, which makes the flowers look like they are in the style of Banksy.

Maroon 5

This is Maroon 5's album, I have chosen to use this as one of the artists digipacs as I think the album looks like it could be The Costigans album. I also like the pull out which looks very professional.

  1. It might be useful for you to talk a bit more about the target audience for each band and how the design and choice of images on each digipac targets their respective audience
