I emailed artists like CKY, Blink 182, Andrina Thorpe and The Costigans asking for permission to use a music track of my choice. Many did not get back to me however, I had a reply from The Costigans which means I now have a song that I am able to use for the music video I am going to be making.

I just finished my music analysis for three separate band which were: CKY; OK Go and Green Day. As I did my analysis in great detail, it took a lot of time to finish. However, I am glad I did it in such detail as I would like a good grade at the end of my studies.

I learnt a lot about the three music bands for example, the different record labels each band has been with, you can see that they were with a very small record label at the start of their career like Green Day's Skene!, which closed down. And now the bands are either with a very big record label or they have created or co-owned their own record label, which gives them the freedom to dress and sing what they want.

I also learnt a lot about the history of each band such as CKY, who were initially called Foreign objects. and then later on in their career gave Bam Margera permission to produce all of their music videos for the album 'Infiltrate Destroy Rebuild'. CKY have also had a lot of Bass guitarists like Matt Dies, Ryan Bruni and Vernon Zaborowski.

By doing this analysis it has helped me to understand what a music band goes through to reach the top and be internationally known. By analysing the use of camera angles, editing and lighting, this will help me when I create my own music video as I will know thing like what lighting to use to create a dark, sad feeling (Green Day '21 Guns' when the lighting goes out with one spotlight), or how to make the audience feel as though they are there in the video (OK Go 'This too shall pass' camera movement which follows each of the small stunts).
