Final poster design

The screen grab above is the start of my final poster design in detail. I chose to use this photograph as it would link well to the lead singer of the band and also the music video, as it is the same person. I then manipulated the photograph by putting the stamp filter on the photograph, which is how I got the black and white simple design.

I then added a gradient background, which is very similar to the background I used on my digipac. I have included these small links to help the audience see and know that this poster links to the digipac. It is also very clean and professional, as there are not too many colours used, and they are quite bright, fresh colours. This is a similar gradient style to Chase and Status and the colours they used to promote their new tour, which I have spoken about in my research.

I am also going to include typical detail you would see on a poster advertising a new single such as: when it is released; critic’s feedback on the single; the name of the single; a second track which is a remix and also the lyrics to the track. All of these components will create a very interesting digipac which looks professional and links back to the digipac.

I have also added the wing on the models back and also a small wing in the bottom right corner of the poster. I chose to use the same wing as the design I used on my digipac to link back to the previous work I have done which helps the audience relate the two illustrations together. I angled the wing so it looked like it fit on the models back well. I like this design so far as it is dissimilar to the digipac; however, you can still see certain details which link well to the digipac. I also added the small wing in the corner of the design as I am not sure if I am going to include this detail yet. I want to include it as it will then link better to my digipac and it could be useful to fill up blank space. But, it may look quite random on the design and so I will see what it looks like when I come to editing my poster design further.
