Research into other artists posters

I researched different bands to find media such as tour posters and also new album posters to show that I have researched into other artists posters.

Panic at the Disco.

This is Panic at the Disco's tour poster. I chose to include this in my research as I like the different patterns used in the writing and at the top of the poster, as it is very similar to my digipac design. This means that I can take inspiration from certain aspects of this poster and create my own individual idea, which will link to my digipac design.

OK GO's new album out on iTunes.

I chose to include this in my research as I find that this band generally uses very simple ideas which are very effective such as their album cover I researched. The digipac was very simple but it was full of colour and it was interesting to look at due to the different fonts and colours. This new album poster again is very simple but I like that you can tell they are a bit wacky due to the statue-like position they are standing in with the random upside down bins behind them. And, they also call the new album an 'Extra nice edition' which is very comical.

The ideas I shall take from this poster is the simple colours as it looks very good as they have only used two colours.

Noah and the Whales new album poster.

This new album poster does not really link with my digipac design and I would like my digipac design and my album poster to link and so I am not inspired by this poster. I also think the poster looks quite old as it looks very worn and aspects such as the font is plain in comparison to The Costigans which are a very up to date band.

Chase and Status' tour poster

I really like this tour poster by Chase and Status as the important information is advertised in very bold writing as the bright yellow font contrasts against the dark background. I also like how it has little pictures next to the bands name which I think is a very good idea as it looks interesting.

If I chose to create a poster similar to this, next to the bands name I could draw little wings, which look like the wing on my digipac, as this will link both of my designs very well which is what I want.
